Trouble In The Pueblo
Lyrics by Brieve Morison
There’s trouble in the pueblo
Drugs and money again
I talked to my friend Valdo
He said he’d be ready if they came
He remembers the civil war
People disappeared overnight
He said no matter what they come here for
I’m gonna give them a fright
So I said to Valdo
Whatcha gonna do
He said I’m gonna take 12 bo’
And hurt them to protect you
Valdo is my friend
Because I learned his language
He knew of all my problems
Never took advantage
So I asked again about them
What are you going to do
Valdo said I’m going to shoot them
With this scopa through and through
I said you can’t just kill them
He smiled as if to tease
I’ll do it here and then
I’ll shoot them in their knees
Now Valdo herds his cows
From dawn until dusk
He fights the grass and mows
He says he’s winning if his scythe cuts
Well I’ve been out of touch
Since moving back to here
I can’t say I miss him much
But the memories are strong and clear
